We began with five men

1 John 3 Ministries began with five men in a Sunday school class earnestly seeking God’s guidance through prayer and His word on what it means to love as He does and to serve “the least of these” in a response of “action and truth.” In January of 2009, we formed a provisional board and in April and November of the same year we were incorporated and were granted non-profit (501(c)3) status.

We received homes for renovation

We received 3 homes at no cost on W. Bluford Street in Clinton Mills in March 2010 (all needed to be torn down) and purchased 1 in Lydia Mill on Palmetto street on April 16, 2010 (money for this purchase came through a $10,000 matching gift from concerned citizens in our community). We then received a house from the Clinton YMCA which we moved to Lydia Mill, renovated and placed a client in on 84 Palmetto street. In March 2013, we received our 206 Willow street house from a long-time Clinton family. This was another one we moved to its current location and are in the very last stages of completing it.[raw]
